Prof. Dr. Viktor Freiman
Professor, University of Moncton, Faculty of Education, Canada
Viktor Freiman is a professor of mathematics education at the Université de Moncton, Canada, since 2003. He has a Ph. D. in teaching computer
science from Moscow (Research Institute for Content and Methods of Teaching). His research interests focus on challenging approach in teaching and learning mathematics, problem-based interdisciplinary learning, creativity, enrichment, as well as integration of technology. He is developing online resources to nurture students’ interest in mathematics, such as CAMI (Communauté d’apprentissages multidisciplinares interactifs) and Virtual Mathematical Marathon. He was involved in organizing Topic Study Groups on Mathematical Giftedness at the ICME congress in 2008 (co-chair), 2012 and 2016 (organizing team member). He is recently director of the CompéTICA Partnership Network (ICT Competences in the Atlantic Canada) and president of the APTICA Association (Pedagogical Advancement of the ICT). He is co-editor of the new Springer book Series Mathematics Education in the Digital Era and author of several book chapters and journal articles.
Prof. Dr. Gabriele Kaiser

Gabriele Kaiser holds a master’s degree as a teacher for mathematics and humanities for lower and upper secondary level, which she completed at
the University of Kassel in 1978 with the first state degree. After having worked at school and completion of the second state degree, she worked as a scientific assistant at the Department of Mathematics at the University of Kassel, where she completed her doctorate in mathematics education (rer. nat.) in 1986 with a study on applications and modelling supervised by Werner Blum and Arnold Kirsch. Based on a grant for Postdoctoral Research by the German Research Society (DFG) she undertook her post-doctoral study in pedagogy on international comparative studies at the University of Kassel, which she completed in 1997. From 1996-1998 she hold a guest professorship at the University of Potsdam. Since 1998, she is full professor for mathematics education at the Faculty of Education, Psychology, Human Movement of the University of Hamburg. Her areas of research include modelling and applications in school, international comparative studies, gender and cultural aspects in mathematics education and empirical research on teacher education. In October 2010 she took up the position as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education, Psychology, Human Movement being responsible for research, promotion of young researchers and international cooperation. Since 2005 she serves as Editor-in-chief of ZDM – The International Journal on Mathematics Education (formerly Zentralblatt fuer Didaktik der Mathematik), published by Springer. She is Convenor of the 13th International Congress on Mathematics Education (ICME-13), which will take place 2016 at the University of Hamburg.
Prof. Dr. Bharath Sriraman

Bharath Sriraman is a Professor of Mathematical Sciences at
University of Montana with research interests in creativity and talent development. He has published extensively on these topics for over a decade. Bharath is the founding editor of The Mathematics Enthusiast and a number of book series with Springer, Sense and Information Age." Prof. Dr. Rina Zazkis
Faculty of Education, Simon Fraser University, Canada
Rina Zazkis is a Professor at Simon Fraser University in the Faculty of Education and an Associate Member in the Department of Mathematics. Her research interests are in mathematics education at the undergraduate level and teacher education, focusing on the uses of mathematical knowledge in teaching. She conducted extensive research on teaching and learning of elementary Number Theory, which is summarized, in part, in her book Relearning mathematics: A challenge for prospective elementary school teachers, published by Information Age Publishing. Her recent work is featured in the book Lesson Play in Mathematics Education: A Tool for Research and Professional Development, Published by Springer. This work focuses, in part, on a creative task design for prospective teachers.
